The Portrait of Gender Equality in English Textbook for the Ninth Graders of Junior High School

Textbook as an essential component of learning was required to assist in education that promotes gender equality. The findings previous studies on issues language textbook mostly indicated they depicted biases and stereotypes. To continue the study about textbook, present looked at visual textual data representing equality focused sector ELT textbooks for ninth graders Indonesian junior high school. revealed some gendered exposes education. This finding implied authors Indonesia evaluated balanced resources might aid school students enhancing awareness eliminating misconceptions through proper exposure materials expressing positive viewpoints males females. used Qualitative Content Analysis a Descriptive Research Design lead portrays male female characters chosen.
